10 Days Honeymoon Tour

The process of itinerary planning, Honeymoon budgeting and navigating unfamiliar destinations is overwhelming. As a consequence, romance ends up taking a back seat. This is perfect solution- take the backseat- literally! Let us plan everything, book the hotels, and do all the driving. We will show you the sights and wonders, but give you plenty of private time together as well.

Day 1: Meet in Casablanca visit Casablanca and drive to Rabat.

We will welcome you at the airport in Casablanca, and invite you to visit Casablanca. Pose at the famous “Rick’s Cafe” from the movie of the same name, and after we will visit the Hassan II Mosque. This is the largest mosque in the kingdom and the fifth largest mosque in the world! Then we can drive to Rabat City where we will see the nesting storks of the ancient Chellah in Rabat, or take a stroll on a beach, wading in the Atlantic Ocean all afternoon long. We will spend the night in a beautiful Riad, breakfast included.

Day 2: Rabat to Chefchaouen.

In the morning after your breakfast, we will drive to the beautiful city of Chefchaoune in Morocco. Tucked away in Africa’s northernmost mountain range, the Rif Mountains, Chefchaouen is one of Morocco’s most romantic towns. Famous for it’s blue buildings– but with much more to offer than just fabulous colors. Founded in 1471, the Moorish architecture makes you feel like you have stepped back in time. On the drive there we will pass through valleys, gorges and picturesque peaks and can stop for a picnic next to a beautiful mountain stream.

The blue, maze-like streets, will lead you through mesmerizing souks (marketplaces) where you can find traditional souvenirs. Compared to Marrakesh or Fez, the relaxed ambiance here means you can stroll hand in hand at leisure and appreciate the local crafts. UNESCO inscribed Chefchaouen and its Mediterranean-style diet as an ‘intangible cultural heritage’. Their cuisine uses local cereals, and fruits and vegetables so the meals here are fresh and healthy.

During a nighttime stroll, look up! You will be amazed to see cloudless skies speckled with constellations, unobstructed by light pollution we’re used to in the bigger cities. This is just a sample of the platarium style star display we will see in the desert over the next few days. Spend the night in a beautiful Riad , breakfast and dinner included.

Day 3: Fez, Meknes via Volubolis.

On our drive to Morocco’s most ancient city, Fez, we will stop at the best preserved Roman ruins in Morocco: Volubolis. Founded in the 3rd century B.C., it became an important outpost of the Roman Empire and was graced with many fine buildings, mosaics, columns and statues. It is a Unesco World Heritage Site for being “an exceptionally well preserved example of a large Roman colonial town on the fringes of the Empire.” After we will drive to Meknes and see el Hadim square, Bab El Mansour, and the massive gate which is the entrance to the old city and the Jewish Quarter. Afterwards we will drive to Fez, and spend the night In Fez.

Day 4: Midelt/Moroccan “Switzerland” in the mountains.

The drive from Fez to the desert is anything but arid. Some tourists are amazed to find rolling green hills filled with large forests deep in the mountains. You can experience the romance of Switzerland here, in the middle of Morocco. With a french quarter and a Alpine climate, this area has a very European feel. You can see photos of chalets and ski slopes– Morocco is full of surprises. We’ll spend the night in Midelt after stopping to meet the Berber monkeys of Ifran, and any hikes and photo ops you’d like along the way.

Days 5: Midelt, Ziz Valley, Sahara Desert, Camel Trek.

We arrive in Merzouga, the gateway city to the Sahara desert a few hours before sunset. You will meet your transportation here. The camels are our friends and workmates, we care for them like family. They are docile creatures that love nothing more than walking in the sand. You and your partner each have a camel, guided by a ‘camel-man’ who knows the path and the camels. Over the dunes, with the lowering sun, the photo ops will be amazing- and you can stop along the way as much as you’d like. As the sun sets you will arrive at our camp, in the middle of ‘nowhere’ an oasis of comfort. You will be greeted with mint tea as you settle into your tent. This is not a regular camping tent, this is Bedoin style living, ‘glamping’- meaning flush toilets, queen size mattress and electricity! Dinner will be served and then the most romantic part of the evening, a roaring camp fire outside your tent. Live music around the fire adds to the ambiance. Then before retiring for the evening take a walk up the dunes to marvel at the stars. There are not words to express the awe you and your loved one will feel in the immensity of the desert, never to be forgotten.

You will arise at your leisure and have breakfast at a table in the middle of the dunes. Private, romantic and delicious! After a walk around the dunes, a shower, or a selfie with your camels the camel-man will lead you on a long trek to meet a local Berber family for tea. They will show you their homes, customs and cooking. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see a style of life very different than your own, and they are very happy to meet new people as well. On the camel trek back we will stop at a real oasis, an amazing spot of green among the arid dunes. Here is a popular respite for traveler and camel alike. Many relax for lunch and hang out with some desert kitty cats as well. Mount your camel for another amazing night under the stars.

Day 6: Sahara Desert, Boumalene Dades (and Rose Valley/Dades Valley)-

During Spring the whole region is covered with aromatic pink roses. However, even if you visit during another season this fertile area is green with palms and flourishes of lush green surrounded by rolling mountains. We pass also through the Dades Valley, a spectacular canyon on the edge of the high Atlas Mountains. Take a private hike in the gorge with some careful rock climbing for spectacular views of the winding roads beneath. We spend the night in Boumalene Dades- full of castles, kasbahs and adobe buildings. Night In Dades Valley.

Day 7: Dades Valley, Ouarzazate, Marrakesh.

After The Breackfast, We will drive to Marrakech passing from Rose Valley and Ouarzazate, After we will arrive to Marrakech.

Marrekech offers a hypnotic and magical atmosphere that will make you dizzy with romance. Discover the most notable palaces and monuments, as well some lesser-known treasures with your local guide for a full day tour. The night is yours to explore with our ideas and tips.
Start at the Koutoubia Mosque, Morocco’s biggest mosque, whose call to prayer can be heard throughout the medina.
Continue to the Bahia Palace, a 19th-century sultans’ residence. Built to outshine all other palaces, this lovely complex comprises ornate pavilions, gardens, mosaic halls and flowery courtyards as your guide shares tales of the sultans who lived here.
Next, visit the Saadian Tombs, a series of royal burial chambers dating from the 1500s. Admire the marble and cedar-domed chambers.

If time permits a visit to the Ben Youseff is in order. This old Koranic school is chock full of colorful tiles, intricate wood-work and marble with a wonderful history of Islamic teachings.

Your guide will navigate you through the hustle and bustle and the souks, and be a helper should you want to haggle for local goods.

The night is yours to spend hand in hand throughout this magical city.

After a long day sightseeing you may want to get a ‘couples hammam’. Hammams are usually segregated between men and women, but for tourists you can book a romantic scrub, steam and massage for two. We can recommend excellent places. Maybe dine by candlelight on a roof-top taking in a spectacular view of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains. After dinner perhaps you would like a horse drawn carriage around Jemma El-Fna. Retire to your riad’s comfortable bed and private bath.

Day 8: Marrakech to Essaouria.

Orson Welles’ classic, and tragically romantic movie Othello, was filmed in Essaouria. His iconic stroll on the ramparts add to their history even more. Walk on the embankment with your lover, just as Othello and Desdemona, but with a happier ending!

The beach here is wonderful for sunbathing, swimming as well as more exhilarating activities like surfing, kite surfing and wind surfing. All these are available for couples classes and rentals.

Unlike the aggressive sales pitch you may encounter in the bigger cities’ medinas, here you can peruse the local goods without pressure. Known for pottery and glass as well as leather and textiles, the medina is easily navigable and not a confusing maze like some.

Your guide can show you the marina and help you pick out fresh fish just caught from local fishermen. You buy them raw and later take them to a grill restaurant.

Join the locals on the jetty for the amazing sunset. Find a rock and watch the show of the earth finishing another rotation. Then take your seafood to one of the recommended restaurants that will grill them for you and provide the side dishes. You dine alfresco and ‘people watch’ the other lovers on the boardwalk.

Your romantic riad will be in the center of the medina, but somehow remains quiet and serene. Enjoy a queen size bed and a breakfast on the roof-deck in the morning.

Day 9: Transfer To…

We drive you back to Marrakesh (or Casablanca) to the Airport. Give a warm goodbye to your guide and driver and treasure your romantic honeymoon in Morocco, with a promise to return to the mother of Africa to celebrate your one year anniversary.
